Yamaha XJ 650, version "Maxim"

The XJ 650 is a motorcycle model from the Japanese motorcycle manufacturer Yamaha from the XJ series . It was originally introduced as a sporty motorcycle in 1980, but acquired the reputation of the indestructible touring motorcycle due to its high level of suitability for everyday use and reliability.

As a technology carrier, Yamaha brought the XJ 650 Turbo onto the market in 1982 . The proud price of around DM 13,500 and the idiosyncratic design kept the sales figures low. 315 units were sold in Germany. A guest appearance in the James Bond film Never Never Say Nothing could change that. According to the Federal Motor Transport Authority, there are currently 35 turbos in Germany.
