Defending champion was Ramy Ashour , who won the tournament again. In the final he defeated Mohamed Elshorbagy 11: 9, 11: 6, 4:11, 10:12 and 12:10. Ashour had been out of the game due to meniscus surgery since winning the 2014 World Cup and played his first tournament in five months with the El Gouna International.
The field of participants in the men's competition consisted of 32 players, eight of which were reserved for qualifiers. The eight best players were seeded. Per Wildcard received Zahed Mohamed a spot in the main draw.
In the tournament, the following prize money and world ranking points are paid out or credited for reaching the respective round. Players who entered the main field from qualification received the specified qualification points in addition to those for reaching the respective round. Otherwise the amounts are not to be understood as cumulative. The total prize pool was $ 150,000.
