Squash World Championship 2014

PSA World Championship logo

The 36th Squash Championship ( English PSA World Championship ) Men place from 14 to 21 November 2014 at the Khalifa International Tennis and Squash Complex in Doha , Qatar instead. It was both the highest endowed tournament of the PSA World Tour 2014/15 and the highest valuation tournament of the PSA World Series . Doha hosted the World Cup for the fourth time, most recently in 2012 .

The defending champion was Nick Matthew , who defeated Grégory Gaultier in five sets last year . In the final, Ramy Ashour won his third World Cup after 2008 and 2012 with 13:11, 7:11, 5:11, 11: 5 and 14:12 against Mohamed Elshorbagy . Shorbagy was in a World Cup final for the second time after 2012.

The field of participants in the men's competition consisted of 64 players, 16 of which were for qualifiers. Per Wildcard received Abdulla Mohd Al Tamimi a spot in the main draw.

Prize money and world ranking points

At the Squash World Cup 2014, the following prize money and world ranking points were paid out or credited for reaching the respective round. Players who enter the main field from qualification receive the specified qualification points in addition to those for reaching the respective round. Otherwise the amounts are not to be understood as cumulative. The total prize pool was $ 325,000.
