Tarek Momen (born February 23, 1988 in Cairo ) is an Egyptian squash player .

Career

Tarek Momen started his professional career in 2005 and has so far won eight tournaments on the PSA World Tour . He achieved his highest ranking in the world rankings with third place in February 2019. During his time with the juniors, Tarek Momen won numerous tournaments, including several at the British Junior Open. With the Egyptian national team , he was runner- up in the 2013 team world championship after losing a final. Tarek Momen was used in the final against Daryl Selby and lost 3-0. At the 2018/19 World Cup , Momen reached the final, in which he lost to Ali Farag in four sets . The following season he reached the final again and finally became world champion after beating Paul Coll . A month later he also won the world title with the national team . In Germany, Momen is registered with the Hamburg Walddörfer sports facility in the 1st squash division .

He has been married to the Egyptian squash player Raneem El Weleily since June 2014 .
