The Khalifa International Tennis and Squash Complex ( Arabic مجمع خليفة الدولي للتنس والاسكواش, DMG Maǧmaʿ Ḫalīfa ad-duwalī li-t-tanis wa-l-iskuwāš ) is a tennis and squash complex in the Qatari capital Doha .
History and use
The facility opened on December 16, 1992 and is owned by the Qatar Tennis Federation . From the opening to the expansion in 2008, the facility offered space for up to 4,500 visitors before the capacity was increased to 7,500. A total of 27 tennis courts are available in the complex. The Center Court has a capacity of around 6,900.
The complex was the tennis and squash competitions of the venue 2006 Asian Games and 2008 to 2010 of the WTA Tour Championships ladies. An ATP tournament for men and a WTA tournament for women are held in the complex every year. The Qatar Classic , a squash tournament of the highest valuation category, also takes place annually in the complex. It has also hosted the Squash World Cup several times : in 2002 for the women and in 1998 , 2004 , 2012 , 2014 and 2019/20 for the men.
