World Squash Championship 1987

The 11th World Squash Championship for Men ( English 1987 Men's World Open Squash Championship ) was held from 13 to 20 October 1987 Birmingham in the UK instead. Birmingham was the venue for the tournament for the second time since 1982 . The total prize pool was $ 110,000.

Defending champion was Ross Norman . In the final Jansher Khan met Chris Dittmar . Khan had previously defeated Jahangir Khan in four sets in the semifinals , Dittmar prevailed against Rodney Martin in four sets. Jansher Khan won the final 9: 5, 9: 4, 4: 9 and 9: 6 and thus won the world championship for the first time.
