Magdi Saad

Magdi Saad (* 1954 ; † March 2011 ) was an Egyptian squash player .

Career

Magdi Saad took part in the British Open every year between 1980 and 1984 , reaching the round of 16 three times. Between 1982 and 1987 Saad was a participant in the world championship five times . His best performance came in 1985 when he reached the quarter-finals. He lost this against Gawain Briars in four sets. With the Egyptian national team he took part in world championships in 1979 , 1981 , 1983 , 1985 and 1987 . The best result was third place in 1981. In August 1986, he achieved his best position in the world rankings with eleventh place.

After his career as an active player, he became a squash coach. In addition to individual players, he looked after teams, including the Egyptian national team when they won their first title in 1999 .
