from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Vinnen Gebrüder GmbH was a German shipping company based in Hamburg . It is not to be confused with the shipping company FA Vinnen & Co. in Bremen .

It was founded in 1913 by the brothers Gustav Ulrich Vinnen (1874–1930) and Carl Vinnen and operated several sailing ships , some of which were confiscated by enemy forces as early as 1914 and during the course of the First World War . Her last ship - the Elfrieda , which later became the sailing training ship Schulschiff Pommern - was sold to the German Training Ship Association in February 1928 , and the company ended its shipping activities. It existed until it was deleted from the company register in 1952.
