Squash World Championship 1981

The fifth squash World Championship for Men ( English 1981 Men's World Open Squash Championship ) was held from 19 to 28 November 1981 in Toronto , Canada , instead. This was the second time since 1979 that Toronto was the venue for the competition.

Already in the semi-finals, the final of the last three events was reissued. Defending champion Geoff Hunt defeated Qamar Zaman again , this time in four sets. In the second semi-final, Jahangir Khan prevailed against Hiddy Jahan . Geoff Hunt lost a world championship final against Jahangir Khan for the first time: With 7: 9, 9: 1, 9: 2 and 9: 1 Khan won his first world title. It was also Hunt's last participation in a world championship.
