Qamar Zaman (born April 11, 1952 in Quetta ) is a former Pakistani squash player .
Career
Qamar Zaman was active as a squash player between 1971 and 1986 and during this time reached the finals of the individual world championships four times without ever winning the title. In 1977 , 1979 and 1980 he was defeated by the Australian Geoff Hunt , in 1984 he had to admit defeat to compatriot Jahangir Khan . With the Pakistani national team , however, he won the world title in 1981 , 1983 and 1987 . He also won the Asian Championship several times with the team, in singles he succeeded in both 1984 and 1986. Qamar Zaman was already 44 years old when he won his second individual title. In addition, he won the British Open in 1975 after a 3-0 final victory over Gogi Alauddin . In January 1975, Qamar Zaman was at the top of the world rankings.
His son Mansoor Zaman is also a professional squash player.
