Evangelical Theological Faculty of Charles University in Prague
The Evangelical Theological Faculty (Czech: Evangelická teologická fakulta , short: ETF UK) of Charles University in Prague is one of the three theological faculties of Charles University.
history
On December 1, 1919, the faculty was founded as the Czechoslovak Evangelical-theological Hus-Faculty . In 1939 the faculty, like all universities, was closed during the time of the Protectorate . The faculty was reopened after the Second World War. In 1950 it was split into two new faculties. The new faculty was called the Evangelical Theological Comenius Faculty . In 1990 the faculty was attached to the Charles University in Prague as an Evangelical Theological Faculty.

Education
Two Bachelor courses are offered: Theology (for the parish office) and Pastoral and social work. The subsequent master’s degree is only for Protestant theology. The faculty maintains Erasmus partnerships in twelve countries and offers a sufficient number of English and German-language events for foreign Erasmus students. The international students are looked after by their own international office.

The faculty is housed in the Palác Marathon , which was built in 1929. In the rooms below is the faculty library , which contains more than 100,000 books in many international languages. It is considered by students to be one of the best faculty libraries in town. There is a small chapel in the third basement . A student church service takes place every Wednesday during the semester. On the ground floor of the faculty is the Marathon café , a place for informal meetings between students and lecturers.
