World Squash Championship 1977

The second squash World Championship for Men ( English 1977 Men's World Open Squash Championship ) was held from 11 to 21 October 1977 in Adelaide , Australia , instead. After the first edition, the World Cup was now an independent event for the first time. The total prize money amounted to 40,000 Australian dollars , of which the winner received $ 8,000.

Both semifinals were new editions of the games from the previous year. Defending champion Geoff Hunt beat Gogi Alauddin again 3-1. The game between Mohibullah Khan and Qamar Zaman decided this time against Zaman 3-2 for himself. Geoff Hunt won the final against Qamar Zaman 9: 5, 10: 9, 0: 9 and 9: 4, making him world champion for the second time.
