World Squash Championship 2008

The 30 Squash World Cup ( English PSA World Championship ) of the men was from 11th to 19th October, 2008. Manchester in the UK instead. It was the most valuable tournament on the PSA World Tour 2008/09 .

The defending champion was Amr Shabana , who reached the semi-finals that year. He was defeated by his Egyptian compatriot Ramy Ashour in five sentences. Ashour also won the final against Karim Darwish , also Egyptian, with 5:11, 11: 8, 11: 4 and 11: 5. It was Ashour's first world title.

The men's field of participation consisted of 64 players, eight of them for qualifiers. Per Wildcard got Tom Richards a spot in the main draw.

At the Squash World Championship 2008 the following world ranking points were paid out or credited for reaching the respective round. The total prize pool was $ 215,000.
