Ong Beng Hee (born February 4, 1980 in Penang ) is a former Malaysian squash player and current trainer.

Career

Ong Beng Hee started squash at the age of eight and has won numerous tournaments in his junior career. He started his professional career as early as 1996. In August 1998 he became world champion in the U19 class in the United States when he won the final against Wael El Hindi . Ong Beng Hee moved to England a year earlier , where he lived and trained for many years.

Between 2000 and 2006 he was Asian champion four times in a row , in 2000, 2006 and 2008 he also won the team title with the Malaysian national team. With this he took part in world championships in 1999 , 2001 , 2003 , 2005 , 2007 , 2009 , 2011 and 2013 . At the Asian Games he won the individual gold medal in 2002 and 2006, and bronze in 2010 and 2014. In 2010 and 2014 he also won the silver medal with the team. At the Commonwealth Games he also won two medals, each with compatriot Nicol David in mixed: silver in 2002 and bronze in 2010 . His highest place in the world rankings was seventh in December 2001. He won 15 titles on the professional tour. From 2012 to 2014 he was the Malaysian national champion. On July 1, 2015, he ended his career and took up a coaching position at the Malaysian Squash Association. In 2017 he became national coach of Qatar.

Ong Beng Hee has been married to Winny Tan since May 6, 2012. The couple has two daughters (* 2014, * 2016).
