Mathieu Castagnet (born November 14, 1986 in Saintes , Charente-Maritime ) is a French squash player .

Career

Mathieu Castagnet began his professional career in the 2005 season and has so far won four titles on the PSA World Tour . He reached his highest place in the world rankings with position six in May 2016. With the French national team he was European champion in 2015 , 2017 and 2018 . With this he also took part in the 2011 , 2013 , 2017 and 2019 team world championships. In 2014 , he became Vice European Champion in singles after losing to Grégory Gaultier in the final . In 2015, 2016 and 2018 he was French national champion .

In July 2017 he married Laura Pomportes , who had recently ended her career as a squash player.
