Laurens Jan "LJ" Anjema (born December 1, 1982 in The Hague ) is a former Dutch squash player .

Career

Laurens Jan Anjema is the son of Robert Jan Anjema, who was Dutch champion twelve times between 1970 and 1982 . In 2006 he managed to become national champion for the first time. He was able to defend the title every year until 2014. He had been a professional on the PSA World Tour since 2002 and had won twelve titles by the time he retired . He was also in a final 20 more times. In December 2009 he achieved his best position in the world rankings with ninth place.

With the Dutch national team , he became vice European champion behind England in 2007 . With this he took part in the World Cup in 2005 , 2007 , 2009 , 2011 and 2013 . In singles he achieved his best results in 2008 , 2009 and 2011 with the round of 16. He was third at the European Championships in 2009 and 2011 . He ended his career on June 28, 2016.
