Defending champion for men was Thierry Lincou and for women Jenny Duncalf . Lincou again reached the final, which he lost to Grégory Gaultier . Gaultier won the game with 9:11, 11: 6, 11: 3 and 11: 7. Jenny Duncalf did not compete again for the women. Natalie Grinham won the final against Camille Serme 7:11, 11: 3, 11: 9 and 11: 5. For Gaultier it was the sixth title win, for Grinham the second.
The field of participants in the men's competition consisted of 32 players and that of the women's competition consisted of 16 players. There were four starting places for qualifiers for the men and five starting places for the women. A wildcard was only given to the women, it went to Dominika Witkowska . There is no prize money or world ranking points at European championships. In both fields, positions three and four, positions five to eight and - only for men - positions nine to 16 were placed in the form of a grouped setting.
