Alexei Severinov ( Russian Алексей Северинов ; born January 23, 1980 in Leningrad , Russian SFSR , Soviet Union ) is a former Russian squash player .

Career

Alexei Severinov began his international career in 2002 and was the first Russian professional player on the PSA World Tour . He reached his highest place in the world rankings with rank 150 in May 2010. With the Russian national team he took part in the World Cup in 2003 , 2007 and 2013 . At European Championships he was part of the Russian squad more than ten times. In the singles he was nine times in a row in the main field of the European championship from 2004 to 2012 . In 2008 he managed the only time to move into the second round, in which he was eliminated by Renan Lavigne . In 2009 and 2017 he was on the Russian squad at the World Games . Both times he was eliminated in the first round. Severinov is the Russian record champion, he has won the national championship over ten times since 2002.
