World Games 2009 / Squash

At the World Games 2009 in Kaohsiung , two squash competitions were held from July 21 to 24, 2009 .

Nick Matthew won the men's gold medal after beating James Willstrop 11: 8, 11: 6 and 11: 5 in the final. Bronze went to Mohd Azlan Iskandar , whose game for bronze was canceled due to the injury of his opponent Stewart Boswell . As in 2005 , Nicol David again prevailed among the women . In the final she met Natalie Grinham , who she defeated 11: 6, 11: 8 and 11: 6. The bronze medal won Omneya Abdel Kawy after a five-set win over Alison Waters .

Simon Rösner , Jens Schoor and Pamela Hathway from Germany took part, Austria was represented by Birgit Coufal . Participants from Switzerland did not start.
