World Games 2005 / Squash

At the World Games 2005 in Duisburg , two squash competitions took place from July 16-19, 2005 . A total of 32 athletes took part in the competitions, 16 of them each in the women’s and men’s competition.

In the women's competition Nicol David defeated Rachael Grinham 9: 4, 10: 8 and 9: 1 in the final , while in the men's Peter Nicol won 9: 3, 9: 0 and 9: 4 against Thierry Lincou . The losers in the semi-finals each received the bronze medal.

In addition to the German champion Karin Berière, reserve players Daniela Schumann and Katharina Witt from Germany, as well as the Austrian national champion Pamela Pancis competed for the women . German-speaking starters for the men were Stefan Leifels , Hansi Seestaller and Patrick Gässler from Germany, as well as Andreas Fuchs from Austria.
