Ellen Petersen , often also Ellen Hamborg-Petersen , (born July 14, 1974 in Sønderborg ) is a former Danish squash player .

Career

Ellen Petersen played on the WSA World Tour from 1994 to 2005 and during this period she won five titles in a total of ten finals. She reached her highest place in the world rankings with rank 19 in October 2001. Between 1994 and 2005 she was Danish national champion ten times . With the Danish national team she took part in the World Cup in 1998 , 2000 , 2002 and 2004 , as well as several times in European Championships . In addition, she represented Denmark in 1997 and 2005 at the World Games . In the individual she was from 2000 to 2002 three times in a row in the main field of the world championship. In 2002 she reached the second round. At the European Championships in 2005 , her only participation in the tournament, she was eliminated in the quarter-finals.

Petersen studied medicine and has been working as a doctor in the field of orthopedics since 2004 .
