Samantha Terán Quintanilla (born May 6, 1981 in Mexico City ) is a Mexican squash player .

Career

Samantha Terán started her career in the 2000 season and has so far won 16 titles on the WSA World Tour . She reached her highest position in the world rankings with position eleven in May 2010. At world championships she achieved her best result so far by reaching the semi-finals in 2011. She was also the first Mexican squash athlete to do so. So far, she has won ten medals at the Pan American Games . In 2003 and 2007 she won bronze medals in both individual and team competitions. At the 2011 Games she won gold medals in singles and doubles as well as bronze with the team. In the singles she defeated Samantha Cornett in the final . In the final of the doubles competition, she won alongside Nayelly Hernández against the Colombians Catalina Peláez and Silvia Angulo Rugeles . In 2015 she won another bronze medal in singles, doubles and with the team. In 2019 , she secured bronze with the team . At the Pan American Championships , she is the record winner in singles with seven titles. With the Mexican national team , she took part in the World Cup several times.
