Catalina Peláez Casasfranco (born September 4, 1991 in Bogotá ) is a Colombian squash player .

Career

Catalina Peláez began her professional career in the 2010 season on the WSA World Tour . She reached her highest place in the world rankings with rank 56 in October 2015. So far she has been in a final on the World Tour twice.

With the Colombian national team , she took part in the World Cup in 2012 and 2014 . She qualified for the first time in 2012 for the main draw of the individual world championships. In the first round she lost to Laura Massaro in three sets. At the Pan American Games in 2007 she won the bronze medal with the team. In 2011 she secured the silver medal both with the team and in the doubles competition with Silvia Angulo Rugeles . Four years later she won bronze again in both competitions, this time in doubles with Laura Tovar . In 2019 , she won the mixed gold medal in Lima and again bronze with the team . She represented Colombia at the 2013 World Games and reached the round of 16, in which she lost to Camille Serme . In 2013, 2014 and 2018 she was Pan American champion in mixed doubles with Miguel Ángel Rodríguez . At the South American Games 2010 she won gold in the doubles competition with Silvia Angulo Rugeles as well as with the team.

She majored in Studio Arts and Italian minor from Trinity College . She was also active in college squash for Trinity.
