The 18th World Team Chess Championship women ( English 2012 Women's World Team Squash Championship ) was held from 12 to 17 November 2012 in Nimes , France instead.

The Egyptian team won the title, defeating England 2-1 in the final . In the first game, Alison Waters defeated her opponent Nour El Sherbini 11: 5, 8:11, 9:11, 11: 3 and 11: 5. Then Raneem El Weleily equalized with a 3:11, 12:10, 11: 4 and 12:10 against Laura Massaro . In the decisive game Omneya Abdel Kawy prevailed in the fifth set with 11: 8 against Jenny Duncalf and thus secured Egypt the second title after 2008.

The German team finished 19th, Austria 25th. A Swiss team did not compete.

mode

The participating teams were drawn into eight groups according to their placement, the group size varied between three and four teams. The groups played in round robin mode , and the two best-placed teams reached the final round, which was played in a knockout system . At the tournament all places were played out.

All teams consisted of a minimum of three and a maximum of four players who had to be reported in the order of their skill level. Three individual games were played per encounter. A team won if its players could win two of the individual games. The order of play of the individual games is independent of the order in which the players register.
