2010 Women's Squash World Team Championship

The 17th World Team Chess Championship women ( English 2010 Women's World Team Squash Championship ) was held from November 28 to December 4, 2010 in Palmerston North , New Zealand instead. A total of 16 teams took part, Mexico made its debut at a World Cup.

Australia became world champions for the ninth time. In the final, the Australians defeated the English team 2-1. Sarah Fitz-Gerald initially brought Australia into the lead with a 3-0 win against Sarah Kippax . Jenny Duncalf equalized against Rachael Grinham , who she defeated 3-0. The decisive game was won by Kasey Brown against Laura Massaro 3-1. The game for third place was a new edition from 2010. Malaysia again prevailed against New Zealand .

Austria took 16th and last place. Teams from Germany or Switzerland did not start.

mode

The participating teams were drawn into four groups according to their placement. The groups played in round robin mode , and the two best-placed teams reached the final round, which was played in a knockout system . At the tournament all places were played out.

All teams consisted of a minimum of three and a maximum of four players who had to be reported in the order of their skill level. Three individual games were played per encounter. A team won if its players could win two of the individual games. The order of play of the individual games is independent of the order in which the players register.
