Shelley Celia Kitchen , MNZM (born December 2, 1979 in Kaitaia ) is a former New Zealand squash player .

Career

Shelley Kitchen began her professional career in 1999 on the WSA World Tour and won 15 titles on it. She achieved her best placement in the world rankings with sixth place in September 2008. One of her greatest successes was winning the 2006 World Cup in doubles with compatriot Tamsyn Leevey . Two years earlier she was runner-up in the mixed world with Glen Wilson . At the Commonwealth Games 2006 she won the bronze medal in singles and the silver medal in doubles on the side of Tamsyn Leevey. She was a regular for the New Zealand national team for many years .

Shelley Kitchen ended her career in December 2010. She was named a member of the New Zealand Order of Merit in January 2011 .

Private

Shelley Kitchen is married to former Australian squash player Anthony Ricketts . The couple have two daughters.
