CIMB Malaysian Open 2006

The CIMB Malaysian Open 2006 took place from July 25th to 30th, 2006 in Kuala Lumpur , Malaysia . The men's squash tournament was part of the PSA World Tour 2005/06 , the women's tournament was part of the WSA World Tour 2005/06 . The men's competition was endowed with $ 30,000 and the women's competition with $ 43,000.

The defending champions were Amr Shabana and Nicol David . Adrian Grant defeated Cameron Pilley 7:11, 11: 3, 11: 6 and 11: 3 in the final . Nicol David prevailed again in the women's category, beating Tania Bailey 9: 4, 9: 6, 2: 9, 5: 9 and 9: 3.

The fields of participants in the men's and women's competition consisted of 16 players each, four of which were reserved for qualifiers. The eight best players were seeded. Per Wildcard received Mohd Nafiizwan Adnan and Tricia Chuah each a spot in the main draw.
