Tania Bailey (born October 2, 1979 in Stamford , Lincolnshire ) is a former English squash player .

Career

In 1998 Tania Bailey made her tour debut. In her career she reached fourth place in the world rankings in March 2003 and won a total of six titles on the WSA World Tour . Already in her junior career she became world champion when she defeated French Isabelle Stoehr in 1997 with 9: 6, 9: 1 and 9: 7. In the individual, she did not achieve such success with the women, but with the English national team she became world champion in 2000 and 2006 . This was followed by two runner-up world titles in 2008 and 2010. With the team she won six titles at European championships . In 2007 she became vice European champion after a 5: 9, 9: 3, 7: 9, 5: 9 defeat against her compatriot Jenny Duncalf . At the Commonwealth Games 2002 , she won the silver medal in a double competition with Cassie Jackman . Four years later she won the bronze medal in doubles with Vicky Botwright . In 2006 she was British national champion.

Tania Bailey retired from her professional career in early 2012. She married Neil Hanson on February 19, 2010. On January 4, 2013, she became the mother of a son.
