2006 Women's Squash World Team Championship

The 15th World Team Chess Championship women ( English 2006 Women's World Team Squash Championship ) was held from 24 to 30 September 2006 in Edmonton , Canada , instead. A total of 16 teams took part.

Australia clearly missed defending their title with 10th place. Since the tournament was first played, the Australian team had always achieved at least third place. England became world champions and won their sixth title with a 2-0 victory over Egypt . Malaysia came in third ahead of the Netherlands . Germany took 12th place, Austria came 16th and last place. The Switzerland did not participate.

mode

The participating teams were drawn into four groups according to their placement. The groups played in round robin mode , and the two best-placed teams reached the final round, which was played in a knockout system . At the tournament all places were played out.

All teams consisted of a minimum of three and a maximum of four players who had to be reported in the order of their skill level. Three individual games were played per encounter. A team won if its players could win two of the individual games. The order of play of the individual games is independent of the order in which the players register.
