Melanie Jans (born July 3, 1973 in Montreal ) is a former Canadian squash player .

Career

Melanie Jans played on the WSA World Tour from 1991 to 2007 and won six titles on it. She reached her highest ranking in the world rankings with rank 25 in March 1999. At the Pan American Games , she won gold with the team in 1995. In 1999 she won the gold medal both individually and with the team. In 2003 she won the silver medal in both competitions. With the Canadian national team , she took part in a total of eight world championships: 1992 , 1994 , 1996 , 1998 , 2000 , 2002 , 2004 and 2006 . She was Canadian national champion in 1998, 2000, 2001 and 2004 . After her active career, she began working as a coach at the Canadian Association Squash Canada , including as head coach for the Canadian women's national team.
