Women's Squash World Team Championship 1983

The 3rd World Team Championship for women ( English 1983 Women's World Team Squash Championships ) took place from October 31 to November 4, 1983 in Perth , Australia . A total of nine teams took part.

Defending champions Australia faced England again in the final and were once again victorious 2-1. This was the second title for the Australian team. In the game for third place, New Zealand beat Ireland 3-0 . Germany, which had still participated in 1981, decided not to make the long journey to Australia.

mode

The participating teams were drawn into two groups according to their results from the previous event. The group played in round robin mode , and the two best-placed teams made it to the semi-finals.

All teams consisted of a minimum of three and a maximum of four players who had to be reported in the order of their skill level. Three individual games were played per encounter. A team won if its players could win two of the individual games. The order in which the individual games were played was independent of the order in which the players entered.
