The Swedish national squash team is the entirety of the squash squash federation Svenska Squashförbundet . In it you will find Swedish athletes who represent their country in both individual and team competitions nationally and internationally in squash .

history

Men's

Sweden first took part in the World Cup in 1976 and finished the tournament in sixth place. Up to and including 1993 , the team always achieved a final place in the top ten, the best place was a fifth place in 1987 . In 2005 Sweden renounced the participation for the first time, in the three following World Championships the team fell further and further in the final places with the ranks 17, 22 and 28. In 2013 , Sweden renounced the World Cup for the second time since 2005.

Sweden has been participating in European championships since the first edition in 1973. Between 1975 and 1995 the team was only twice off the podium. From 1975 to 1977 she won bronze three times in a row before reaching the final against England every year until 1989, which she also won in 1980 and 1983. Along with England, Sweden was the only team to ever become European champions until France won the title in 2015 . The team in 1980 included Lars Kvant , Mikael Hellström , Johan Stockenberg and Peter and Bo Boström . In 1983, alongside Lars Kvant, Jan-Ulf Söderberg , Björn Almström , Fredrik Johnson and Jonas Görnerup were in the squad. Fourth places followed in 1990, 1992 and 1993, before Sweden won the last medal to date with bronze in 1995. Today the team is no longer one of the top ten European teams.
