Angela Smith (born July 3, 1953 in Stoke-on-Trent ) is a former English squash player .

Career

Angela Smith was active as a squash player in the 1970s and 1980s. She reached her highest place in the world rankings with seventh place in January 1984. With the British national team , she became 1979 world champion . in the final against Australia she won her game against Vicki Cardwell in four sets. As a member of the English national team , Vice World Championships followed in 1981 and 1983 . In addition, she won the title at the European Championship with the English team in 1984 . She played a total of over 100 games for England.

Between 1979 and 1989 she took part in individual world championships six times in a row. In 1979 and 1981 she achieved her best result with the semi-finals. In 1976 she was British national champion.
