history
Men's
Great Britain has participated in World Championships since it was first held in Melbourne in 1967 . Four times in a row, she finished the tournament in second place before winning the title in 1976 in Birmingham, home without defeat. When defending their title in Toronto in 1977 , the team failed in the semi-finals and ended up fourth. At its last tournament in 1979 , Great Britain became world champions for the second time, again without defeat.
After the 1979 World Cup, England , Scotland , Wales and Northern Ireland each formed their own teams with which they competed. Own national associations were also founded, so that ultimately the British team was dissolved.
