Baron Sanderson of Ayot
Baron Sanderson of Ayot , of Welwyn in the County of Hertford , is a hereditary British title in the Peerage of the United Kingdom .
The title was created on July 4, 1960 for the businessman Basil Sanderson . He was the son of the shipowner Harold Arthur Sanderson, General Manager of the White Star Line . When the 1st Baron died on August 15, 1971, he was followed by his older son Alan Lindsay Sanderson. On September 28, 1971, he renounced the title for life. The title has been suspended since then.
