1979 Women's World Squash Championship

The first squash World Championship of Women ( English 1979 Women's World Open Squash Championship ) was held in October 1979 in Sheffield in the UK instead, just before the World Cup of teams that in Birmingham were held. The total prize pool was $ 4,750.

In the first final in women's World Cup history, Heather McKay and Sue Cogswell faced each other. McKay won this game 6: 9, 9: 3, 9: 1 and 9: 4.
