2007 World Women's Squash Championship

The 23rd Women's Squash World Championship took place from October 23-27, 2007 in Madrid , Spain . The World Championship was the most valuable tournament on the WSA World Tour 2007/08 .

The defending champion was Nicol David , who was eliminated in the round of 16 against New Zealander Shelley Kitchen this year . In the final, the sister couple Natalie and Rachael Grinham, seeded in second and third place, faced each other. It was the first ever world championship final in squash in which two siblings met.

The field of participants consisted of 32 players, eight of which were starting places for qualifiers. Per Wildcard received Alicia Alvárez Riaza a spot in the main draw.

Prize money and world ranking points

In the tournament, the following world ranking points were credited for reaching the respective round. Players who entered the main field from qualification received the specified qualification points in addition to those for reaching the respective round. Otherwise the amounts are not to be understood as cumulative. The total prize pool was $ 114,000.
