2016 World Women's Squash Championship

The 32nd women's squash world championship took place from April 5th to 14th, 2017 in el-Guna , Egypt . It was the highest endowed tournament of the PSA World Tour for women 2016/17 with a total prize money of 165,000 US dollars. The tournament was originally supposed to take place in 2016, but the PSA postponed it to April 2017. At the same time, the El Gouna International for men took place on site.

Last year's winner was Nour El Sherbini , who successfully defended her title. In the final she defeated Raneem El Weleily with 11: 8, 11: 9 and 11: 9 and thus became world champion for the second time.

The field of participants in the women's competition consisted of 32 players, eight of whom were qualifiers. The 16 best players were seeded. Per Wildcard received Zeina Mickawy a spot in the main draw.

Prize money and world ranking points

At the 2016 Women's Squash World Cup, the following prize money and world ranking points were paid out or credited for reaching the respective round. Players who entered the main field from qualification received the specified qualification points in addition to those for reaching the respective round. Otherwise the amounts are not to be understood as cumulative. The total prize pool was $ 165,000.
