2009 World Women's Squash Championship

The 25th Women's Squash World Championship took place from September 20th to 27th, 2009 in Amsterdam , Netherlands . The World Championship was the most valuable tournament on the WSA World Tour 2009/10 .

Defending champion was Nicol David , who won the title again this year. In the final, she defeated Natalie Grinham with 3:11, 11: 6, 11: 3 and 11: 8 and became world champion for the fourth time.

The field of participants consisted of 32 players, eight of which were starting places for qualifiers. Per Wildcard received Orla Noom a spot in the main draw.

Prize money and world ranking points

At the 2009 Women's Squash World Cup, the following world ranking points were credited for reaching the respective round. Players who entered the main field from qualification received the specified qualification points in addition to those for reaching the respective round. Otherwise the amounts are not to be understood as cumulative. The total prize pool was $ 118,000.
