World Women's Squash Championship 2013

The 29th Women's Squash World Cup took place in Penang , Malaysia from March 17-21 , 2014 . The world championship was the most valuable tournament of the WSA World Tour 2013/14 season .

The WSA announced in November 2013 that the World Championship scheduled for 2013 would be canceled for the first time in history. On January 11, 2014, the WSA announced that the tournament will be held in Penang in March 2014 . As usual, the 2014 World Cup was held in the second half of the year.

Defending champion was Nicol David , who did not win the tournament for the first time since 2007 . David was defeated in the semifinals by the 18-year-old unset Egyptian Nour El Sherbini in five sets. In the final El Sherbini met Laura Massaro, who was seeded in second place . Massaro, who had already reached the final in 2012 , won the game against El Sherbini with 11: 7, 6:11, 11: 9, 5:11 and 11: 9 and thus became world champion for the first time.

The field of participants consisted of 32 players, eight of which were reserved for qualifiers. The best 16 players were seeded. Per Wildcard received Vanessa Raj a spot in the main draw.

Prize money and world ranking points

At the 2013 Women's Squash World Cup, the following prize money and world ranking points will be paid out or credited for reaching the respective round. Players who entered the main field from qualification received the specified qualification points in addition to those for reaching the respective round. Otherwise the amounts are not to be understood as cumulative. The total prize money was $ 120,000.
