The Allam Marine British Open took place from 12 to 18 May 2014 in Kingston upon Hull in the UK instead. The men's squash tournament was part of the PSA World Tour 2013/14 and belonged to the World Series Platinum category . The women's squash tournament was part of the WSA World Tour 2013/14 and also belonged to the World Series Platinum category .

Defending champion for men was Ramy Ashour , for women Laura Massaro .

The field of participants in the men's competition consisted of 32 players, eight of which were reserved for qualifiers. The eight best players were seeded. In the women's competition there were also 32 players, 16 of whom were seeded. Of the other 16 places, eight were reserved for qualifiers. Per Wildcard received Tom Richards and Emily Whitlock a starting place in the respective main field. After Richards had to cancel his participation due to injury, Joe Lee got his place.

Prize money and world ranking points

At the tournament, the following prize money and world ranking points were paid out or credited for reaching the respective round. Players who entered the main field from qualification received the specified qualification points in addition to those for reaching the respective round. Otherwise the amounts are not to be understood as cumulative. The total prize pool was $ 150,000 for the men and $ 100,000 for the women.
