Allam Marine British Open 2015

The Allam Marine British Open 2015 took place from 9th to 17th May 2015 in Kingston upon Hull , United Kingdom . The venues were the Airco Arena and the University of Hull . The men's squash tournament was part of the PSA World Tour 2014/15 and belonged to the World Series category . The women's squash tournament was part of the WSA World Tour 2014/15 and belonged to the World Series Platinum category .

Defending champion for men was Grégory Gaultier , for women Nicol David . World champion Ramy Ashour canceled his participation on May 4, 2015 due to an injury. In the women's final, Camille Serme beat Laura Massaro 11: 3, 11: 5, 8:11 and 11: 8. This was Serme's first title in a World Series tournament. In the men's category, Mohamed Elshorbagy defeated defending champion Gaultier 11: 9, 6:11, 5:11, 11: 8 and 11: 5 and won his first British Open title.

The field of participants in the men's competition consisted of 32 players, eight of which were reserved for qualifiers. The eight best players were seeded. In the women's competition there were also 32 players, 16 of whom were seeded. Of the other 16 places, eight were reserved for qualifiers. Per Wildcard received Adrian Waller and Victoria like a starting place in the respective main field.

Prize money and world ranking points

At the tournament, the following prize money and world ranking points were paid out or credited for reaching the respective round. Players who entered the main field from qualification received the specified qualification points in addition to those for reaching the respective round. Otherwise the amounts are not to be understood as cumulative. The total prize money for the men and women was US $ 150,000 each.
