Dunlop British Open Squash Championships 2006

The 2006 Dunlop British Open Squash Championships took place in Nottingham , United Kingdom from September 15-18, 2006 . The men's squash tournament was part of the PSA World Tour 2006/07 and belonged to the 5 Star category . The prize money was $ 60,000. The women's tournament was part of the WSA World Tour 2006/07 and belonged to the WSA Silver 25 category . The prize money was $ 32,500.

Defending champion in the men's race was Anthony Ricketts , who was eliminated in three sets in the first round of this year against Ong Beng Hee . Nick Matthew won the final against Thierry Lincou 11: 8, 5:11, 11: 4, 9:11 and 11: 6. This was Matthew's first title at the tournament. Nicol David defended her title from last year with a final win over Rachael Grinham . She defeated Grinham 9-4, 9-1 and 9-4.

The participant fields consisted of 16 players each, four of which were reserved for qualifiers. The best eight players were seeded. Per Wildcard got Chris Simpson a spot in the main draw of the men.
