Dunlop British Open 2007

The 2007 Dunlop British Open took place in Manchester , United Kingdom from September 20 to 24, 2007 . The men's squash tournament was part of the PSA World Tour 2007/08 and belonged to the PSA Super Series Silver category . The prize money was $ 77,500. The women's tournament was part of the WSA World Tour 2007/08 and belonged to the WSA Gold 35 category . The prize money was $ 43,500.

Defending champion was Nick Matthew , who was eliminated in the quarter-finals against Amr Shabana that year . Grégory Gaultier won the final against his compatriot Thierry Lincou with 11: 4, 10:12, 11: 6 and 11: 3. This was Gaultier's first title at this tournament. In the women’s final , last year's finals between Nicol David and Rachael Grinham were reissued , this time Grinham winning 7: 9, 4: 9, 9: 3, 10: 8 and 9: 1.

The field of participants in the men's competition consisted of 32 players, eight of which were reserved for qualifiers. The women's field consisted of 16 players. The best 16 players were seeded for men and the eight best female players for women. Per Wildcard got Andy Whipp a spot in the main draw for the men.
