Eye Group British Open 2000

The Eye Group British Open in 2000 were from 11 to 15 October 2000 in Birmingham in the UK instead. The men's squash tournament was part of the PSA World Tour 2000/01 and belonged to the PSA Super Series Gold category . The prize money was $ 105,000.

The defending champion was Jonathon Power , who lost to David Palmer in five sets in the quarter-finals this year . In the final, David Evans, seeded in ninth place, and Paul Price, seeded in 13th, met each other. For both of them it was their first participation in the final of the British Open. The game ended at 15:11, 15: 6 and 15:10 for Evans, who became the first Welshman to win the tournament. The world number leader Peter Nicol canceled his participation shortly before the start of the tournament due to an injury.

The field of participants in the men's competition consisted of 32 players, eight of which were reserved for qualifiers. The 16 best players were seeded. A wildcard was not awarded.
