Stefan Casteleyn (born February 25, 1974 in Brussels ) is a former Belgian squash player .

Career

Stefan Casteleyn was the first and so far only Belgian player who was ever able to advance into the top ten of the world rankings. His best placement was seventh in December 1999. In the course of his career he won ten tournaments on the PSA World Tour and stood in a total of 25 finals. His greatest achievement was reaching the semi-finals of the 1998 World Cup . With the Belgian national team he took part in numerous European championships . He is the Belgian record champion with 19 national titles. In 2001 he announced the end of his career due to a persistent back injury. From 2007 to 2011, however, he repeatedly took part in tournaments on the professional tour and reached the semi-finals twice. During this time he was a full-time trainer in Los Angeles .

Stefan Casteleyn was married. He has a daughter (* 2014) with his girlfriend Kim Hannes , a former Belgian squash player.
