Jean-Patrick Gille

Jean-Patrick Gille (born January 28, 1962 in Écommoy ) is a French politician . He has been a member of the National Assembly since 2007 .

Gille joined the French section of Friends of the Earth in 1982 . In 1986 he ran unsuccessfully in the parliamentary elections and joined the Parti socialiste in the same year . In 1993 he became their first secretary in the Indre-et-Loire department . A year later he founded the Nouvelle Gauche current within the PS with Benoît Hamon . After he succeeded in entering the city council of Tours in 1995 , he ran again for the National Assembly in 1997, but narrowly failed because of Renaud Donnedieu de Vabres . In 2002 he failed a second time at de Vabres. In the 2007 parliamentary elections , however, he was able to defeat this. Within the party, he rose to one of the national secretaries in 2009 and joined the socialist working group for France's nuclear phase-out in 2011. In 2012 he was re-elected as a Member of Parliament.
