Martin Heath (born January 31, 1973 in Stirling ) is a former Scottish squash player .

Career

Martin Heath began his professional career in 1994 and won two tournaments on the PSA World Tour . His highest ranking in the world rankings he reached fourth in October 1999. In the same year he reached the semi-finals at the World Cup , which he lost to Peter Nicol with 1: 3. He stayed in the top ten of the world rankings for six straight years and won six titles at Scottish national championships. With the Scottish national team he became European champion in 1992 . He also moved into the semi-finals of the World Cup in 2001 , where the team lost to Egypt 2-1. Martin Heath lost 3-1 to Omar Elborolossy . The game for third place against England was lost 3-0.

Life

Martin Heath graduated from the University of Glasgow with a bachelor's degree in sports science prior to his career . After retiring, he became head coach at the University of Rochester in 2005 , and from 2007 to 2011 he was national coach of the male juniors of the US team. Since 2000, Martin Heath has also worked as a commentator on squash games and as a journalist. In 2010, he completed an MBA at the University of Rochester . He is married to the Canadian Fenella Rawana, with whom he has a son.
