Dunlop British Open Squash Championships 2005

The 2005 Dunlop British Open Squash Championships took place October 9-17, 2005 in Manchester , United Kingdom . The men's squash tournament was part of the PSA World Tour 2005/06 in the 5 Star category and was endowed with 52,500 US dollars. The women's tournament was part of the 2005/06 WSA World Tour and was endowed with $ 31,000.

Defending champion in the men's race was David Palmer , who lost to Ong Beng Hee in five sets in the round of 16 this year . In the final, Anthony Ricketts defeated his opponent James Willstrop with 11: 7, 11: 9 and 11: 7. In the women's category, Rachael Grinham defended his title and reached the semi-finals this year. Nicol David won the final against Natalie Grinham 9: 6, 9: 7 and 9: 6.

The field of participants in the men's competition consisted of 32 players, eight of which were reserved for qualifiers. The 16 best players were seeded. The women's competition consisted of 16 players, four of whom were qualifiers. The best eight players were seeded. Per Wildcard received Laurence Delasaux a spot in the main draw of the men.
