Tegwen Malik (born January 21, 1975 in London ) is a former Welsh squash player .

Career

Tegwen Malik played on the WSA Tour from 1994 to 2007 and won three titles on it. Her best placement in the world rankings she reached with rank 16 in January 2000. With the Welsh national team , she took part in the European Championship several times . In 2006 she was part of the Welsh squad at the Commonwealth Games and reached the second round in singles, while she was eliminated in doubles alongside Gavin Jones in the quarterfinals. She was in the main draw of the World Cup seven times : in 1994, 1995, 1998 and 1999, and three more times from 2004 to 2006, with her best result being reaching the second round at the 2005 tournament . She became the Welsh champion in 1992, 1993, 2002, 2004 and 2005. For three years, from November 1999 to November 2002, she was unable to play tournaments due to a viral illness.
